Frequently Asked Questions:
What does a consultation consist of?
We send over a pre-consultation form for you to complete that helps us get to know your symptoms, your health, your history and your current eating. In your first session we want to hear from you! So we start with asking you to summarise your story. This is a great opportunity to reflect on how things are for you right now and think how you want to change. As part of the session you will be asked in depth about your eating but also your overall lifestyle. you wil be given some education, guidance and some goals will be set. Do not panic as a summary is sent over to you after the first session along with any helpful resources.
Can I use my private medical insurance?
Priya is registered with most of the main PMI companies (AVIVA, WPA, BUPA, Exeter, Vitality, Pru Health) but Elle and Gina are not. You will need to check with your PMI that they will fund consultations before booking and then email Priya to arrange this.
Can I come in person?
Most of our consultations are conducted online but you can arrange to see Priya in person in Southampton.
Do you offer 1 off sessions?
Whilst we do offer 1 off sessions for some areas we really like to be able to follow you up and support you fully, so a minimum of an initial session and a follow up makes more sense.
Do you cover other areas of health?
Priya can also help with: Disordered Eating, Chronic Fatigue, Learning Disabilities, Vegan/Vegetarian, South Asian Diets, Family Meals, Weaning and Fussy Eating, anaemia, osteoporosis and achieving a healthy balanced diet. If you have another dietary issues please do contact Priya to discuss. If Priya is not able to help she can help point you to someone who can.
Do you offer food intolerance tests?
No we don’t. This is because only actual food allergies with an IgE reaction can actually be tested for. Food intolerances are tested for by removing the food from the diet and reintroducing it. We can support you with this and with helping make sure your diet is balanced.
